Jim has been involved with wine buying for more than seventeen years, including a role as Wine Director for the Quiet Woman restaurant in Corona del Mar and lead Sommelier at Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s. On his first attempt, he received the Advanced Sommelier diploma from the Court of Master Sommeliers on May 1, 2009. He then earned the Certified Wine Educator Diploma in August of 2015, passing all five sections on his first attempt. Additionally, Jim helped found a wine boutique, wine tasting bar and restaurant called Wine Gallery. Established in 1999 in Corona del Mar, Wine Gallery earned the “Best Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator in the years 2009-2013. Jim is presently adding to his wine and spirits education with the WSET and the Court of Master Sommeliers.
